Scotland MCM Comic Con 2014!

3rd September 2014

I’ll be heading to Glasgow this weekend for Scotland MCM Comic Con – where I’ll be selling comics, art prints, taking commission orders, and even perhaps sketching butts for £2 if you’re cheeky enough to ask. I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist the pun on that one.

I’ll be at TABLE D6 in the Comic Village. I should be easy enough to find, the Comic Village itself seems to be a straight line from the main entrance – behind the Universal/YuGiOh areas.

I will be taking commission orders at the event – generally these are digital commissions that I email or post out the final images after the show. Slots are limited and I already have a few filled at the moment. Commissions are completed on a first-come-first-serve basis and start from as little as £10!

I’ll hopefully be bringing my card reader along this weekend, so as long as I can get a decent internet connection in the hall I should be able to accept payment via cards or PayPal. This will be the first trial run with this though so fingers crossed it’ll work.

On a safety note, remember to bring water with you as the show will be incredibly busy, and as the weather is likely to be quite warm again it’ll be very easy to get dehydrated – especially if you’re not used to the additional body heat in crowded events like this one. The venue does have AC, but with so many people inside it may get quite warm. The venue will be serving food and drinks throughout the day but convention venue food is rarely cheap so perhaps bring snacks with you – so make sure that you take care of yourself and get to enjoy the weekend as much as possible!

As always it’s a very busy event, and since last year it’s expanded into two days – so make sure that you get the most out of the weekend and be careful. There are ATM’s in the hall (main one seems to be in the food area behind the Comic Village), but from experience I can say that they tend to empty and/or have huge queues, so make sure to bring enough cash with you to the event – and store it safely. I wish I didn’t have to say this but in a busy environment filled with people there will be a pick pocket or something similar somewhere. So make sure that your valuables are kept safe, and if you’re carrying cash it’s a good idea to keep it in multiple safe places on your person – that way if something is stolen, you won’t lose all of it.

I hope to see you there!
Davy
