London Film & Comic Con 2014!

8th July 2014

It’s London Film and Comic Con this weekend, and you can find us in the main hall of Earls Court 2. This is the usual hall with all of the signings, photoshoots, and merch stalls rather than the new-for-this-year Stan Lee/Comics hall. We should be fairly easy to find amongst the other artists and creators – but we don’t have details yet on where exactly our table will be. I will be tweeting and posting information on Facebook on Friday once we’ve set up giving more accurate information on where we are – so make sure that you’re following me on Twitter at very least!

London Film and Comic Con is a massive event, expect some queuing to get in – a lot of people do turn up really early – check out their forum posts for more info on how signings etc. work. There are some massive guests this year including Stan Lee, who will be making his last European appearance this weekend. That’s right, unless you plan to travel to the US to see him this will be your last chance here in the UK! Personally though, I’m more excited that I’ll be getting to meet Gail Simone – one of my favourite comic book writers, and the best troll on the internet.

Other guests this weekend will include big names from comics, tv, and film – ones that caught my eye include George A. Romero (Dawn of the Dead), Carrie Fisher (Star Wars), John Hurt (Alien/Hellboy/Doctor Who), Helen Slater (Super Girl), Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica), Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who), Summer Glau (Firefly), David Hewlett (Stargate Atlantis), Andrew Cartmel (Doctor Who), Juliet Landau (Buffy/Angel), Terry Farrell (Star Trek: DS9)… and many many more. Seriously, LFCC consistently pulls out all of the stops when it comes to guests, and this year is no different.

On a safety note, remember to bring water with you as the show will be incredibly busy, and as the weather is likely to be quite warm it’ll be very easy to get dehydrated – especially if you’re not used to the additional body heat in big events like this. The venue does have AC, but with so many people inside it may get quite warm. The venue will be serving food and drinks throughout the day, and there is a Tescos within walking distance – so make sure that you take care of yourself and get to enjoy the weekend as much as possible! In my experience Earls Court 2 does have odd lighting, and people do often complain about headaches as a result – so if you think it may affect you, you may want to bring pain killers with you just in case you need them.

We hope to see you there!
Davy
