So what does the list say?

I was going to let people try to translate it themselves. I think I’ll leave that for the next time the Feran written language appears, maybe offer a free sketch or copy of Fera to the first to translate it. But in this case the list reads: 01, Rope 50ft. 02, Water Skins. 03, Food. 04, Steel Tender. 05, Piston Assembly. 06, Snifting valve. 07, Tools. 08, Shovel. 09, Pole 10ft. 10, Med kit. 11, Lesbian Karma Sutra (as req. by Ceph and a little nod to Khaos by Tab Kimpton). 12, Ear plugs. 13, Duct tape.

Is the numbering system of a different origin than the writing?

Do you want the in-world answer or the actual answer?

In-world: the number system is associated with the region rather than simply Feran, it’s intended to make transactions between races run more smoothly since math is common to all- it’s also worth noting that it was likely designed by Ferans or a race with 3 fingers and 1 thumb – since the symbols assigned to numbers are combinations of 0, 1, 2, 4, 8. The writing is standard Feran script, far older than the numbering system.

Actual answer: The Feran script is entirely based on the alphabet that I devised for them. Since I found myself keep putting their symbols in the background I figured it best to actually devise an actual font rather than making things up on the spot that didn’t mean anything. The numbering system is based on the code that our professors at university used to use to mark our projects. Which we then had to decipher in order to find out what our marks were.
