We’re at Sunny Con this weekend (24th-25th March) [link] , a new animé convention in the heart of Sunderland. We’ll have the Fera comics on sale, as well as art prints, badges, and more (including previews for our newest comic book title). We’ll be joined by , Tab Kimpton, and
I’ll also be exhibiting at Birmingham Comic Con (MCM Expo)  [link] at the NEC next weekend (31st March – 1st April). We’ll be joined by and many more.

And the weekend after that it’ll be a trip to Dee-Con 2012 at the Dundee University Students Association (7th April) [link]

So if you’re local to any of these events, or want to come along and meet some really cool artists (and us of course) – make sure to get your tickets and we’ll see you there!

In other news – I’m currently working on getting Fera issue #3 and a new title (The Editors issue #1) ready for print. The plan is to complete all pages of these two issues by 17th April and sent off to Ka-Blam. I should then have copies of each available at London MCM Expo in May. This also means that we’ll be returning to a weekly schedule next week. AND there are plans afoot to combine the first three issues of Fera into a beautifully bound trade paperback of 110+ pages, comprising the first three issues AND some extras not available anywhere else.

I’ll also be re-launching the site in May, with a new design and layout – the new angelKat site will include:

• A complete update to the look and feel of the site – including new bonus content for each of our titles.
• The Editors will have it’s own page, with sample pages of the first issue.
• Two new titles that are planned to complete in time for July 2012 will join Fera and The Editors under the angelKat banner.
• A new forum – already set up on here if you’d like to be amongst the first users, dig right in.
• Shop – we’ll finally have a fully integrated shop, where you can buy personalised comics, art prints, commissions, and other merchandise (previously only available at UK events) direct from angelKat Entertainment.

And for those asking “What’s this Editors thing?” I’ve mentioned it briefly here and there, and have samples with me at events. The Editors is a new comic title that I’m co-creating with a good friend of mine Paul Burr. “Set in a universe of capes and intrigue – when the world goes into crisis and is too far gone to save, The Editors step in an reset it all. Over the millennia sometimes there’s a glitch in the system, and this time the worlds 2nd worst villain wakes up partway through a reset… and he remembers everything.”

Wednesday, January 11th is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. To participate, we formed the Comic Creators for Freedom– a group of over 100 comic book creators who volunteered our artistic talents to raise money and awareness for this cause. You may not know it, but there are currently 27 million enslaved people worldwide- more than double the number of enslaved Africans during the trans-Atlantic slave trade. UNICEF estimates that 1.2 million children every year are sold into slavery, most of it sexual. The US Department of Justice estimates 16,000 victims of human trafficking are brought into the United States every year. Unlike slavery in the past, what is happening today is happening in secret. It won’t end until awareness is raised, and people like you and me take a stand.

So here’s what we did: each creator contributed an original drawing of one of our own female characters, and combined them into a single wallpaper image! The wallpaper features characters from all over the web, including Girls with Slingshots, The Dreamland Chronicles, Kukuburi, Earthsong Saga, Looking for Group, Love and Capes, The Dreamer, and tons more! Donate today to download this unique, once-in-a-lifetime wallpaper.

The Donations Drive will last for two weeks, from Monday January 9th – 20th. All proceeds will be split evenly between Love 146 and Gracehaven House- two organizations working on rehabilitation of victims and prevention of this crime.

In other news, I’d like to apologise for the recent intermitent comic updates. As some of you may already know, I’m currently organising myself for the end of this month when my contract at my day job comes to an end along with my lease on my home. Which means that I’m going to be moving house again soon.

In the meantime I’ll do my best to get whatever updates I can completed and posted, but I don’t expect to get back to a steady schedule until after 30th November. Please bear with me for now.

Manchester was great fun, as were the other events that we’ve been to this year so thank you to everyone who came out and stopped by the table. Issue 3 will be returning to a weekly schedule, most likely updating every Monday barring anything unexpected and I’ve been working on a page buffer so that even then it shouldn’t affect updates to any real extent. And starting from 1st October I’m going to be posting my warm-up sketches as incentives on the Top Web Comics voting portal, so feel free to vote for Fera daily and encourage your friends to check the comic out.

For those interested I will be taking commissions as of this moment, so if you would like any artwork etc. created email me your request and we can discuss it. At present I’m going to limit commissions to a queue of no more than 4 at any one time. In all circumstances I’ll respond to requests but please understand that depending on demands on my time there may be a short wait. All commissions will be 100% digital, if you would like a print, feel free to ask but the price may need to be adjusted due to shipping and printing costs.
